Saturday Morning at Aikahi Playground

Just us girls this morning and with all the rain we had this week it was time to hit the playground for Ms. Alma to get some much deserved outside time. We went to her absolute favorite place to go and we had so much fun.

This is quite an intimidating playground. There is so much to do and there is even a resident dragon. She always starts off on the smaller more approachable area for small kids.

Then she slowly works up to exploring the bigger stuff and mingling with the big kids.

Then she quickly adopts her usual "no fear" approach to life.

So about that dragon..Alma likes this guys but also a bit apprehensive.

And rightfully so, this is no small dragon. But today was the first day she was brave enough to sit on his nose. The whole time she was telling him to be nice - so cute!

Bowling with the Neighbors

The whole neighborhood crew headed out last weekend for some bowling. This was Alma's first time but she was a pro by the end.

She of course enjoyed some things more than others.

Like taking her turn was way more fun than watching everyone else have a turn.

But she still did really well. Especially once she figured out she could help everyone get their ball.

And when she discovered the hand dryer.

As always she had a great time with all the kids.

And on a more random note, she had corn on the cob for the first time. We don't get it a lot in Hawaii but she took to it no problem.

And was even willing to share with Daddy.

Weekend Fun

Summer is turning out to be a very busy time for us. Matt is teaching two classes (in six weeks) and I'm a developing a new certification program. But we still have the weekends! Here are some pictures from our past weekend with Ms. Alma.

First we went to the park down the street. I'm not sure who had more fun here, Matt or Alma. Alma is quickly becoming a Daddy's girl and loves hanging with Daddy.

Our neighbor, Gary gave us this for Alma. We thought it was a baby pool but after blowing it up we weren't so sure. Still not sure what it is but she had fun in it regardless.

No weekend is complete with out a scooter ride! She's almost ready.

And just a lot of hanging out in the courtyard.  This is the closest Alma is going to get to a backyard in Hawaii - it will do for now.
